The New Jersey Nets and the New York Islanders are offering a 50% discount on tickets for December 2008 games. The promotion uses a special promotion code that has to be entered when checking out. Promotions excludes the $10, $15, $20, $555, $606 seats.

Ticketmaster Seeks to Seal Deposition in StubHub Lawsuit

With speculation swirling throughout the industry that ticketing’s two top dogs, Ticketmaster Entertainment and StubHub may have settled a nearly two-year-old lawsuit between them, TicketNews has learned that Ticketmaster is separately seeking to seal a recent deposition in the case by President and CEO Sean Moriarty because of its potentially sensitive nature.

Red Sox Will Not Raise Ticket Prices in 2009

The Red Sox announced earlier this month that they are holding ticket prices at 2008 levels for all existing seats and standing room tickets available to the public at Fenway Park for the 2009 season. It is the first time in 14 seasons the club has not raised at least some ticket prices.

Company reducing $35 mil in expenses:

Ticketmaster will cut about 300 jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan announced in August. Those cuts account for about 5% of the ticket company’s global work force, a Ticketmaster spokesperson said.
