Taylor Swift embarks on her “Fearless” 2009 Tour, which will take her to 52 cities in 38 states beginning Feb. 10th in San Antonio and stretching through the spring, summer and fall in the United States and Canada.

ALERT – STAPLES CENTER PRESALE STARTS TODAY

Swift is touring in support of her sophomore album, “Fearless,” which is so far the top seller of 2009 with 287,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has spent eight straight weeks at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, and since its release last November, it has shifted 2.4 million.

Her management seems to think that selling these venues out won’t be a problem, claiming that she sold 71,000 tickets individual tickets for the Houston Rodeo in 48 hours (We’d like them to define ‘individual’ before we buy the hype) but there is another piece of the formula…$20 tickets. According to Swift’s press release, she wants as many people as possible to be able to afford her tour, so she is pricing tickets at $20, plus local fees, for many of her dates.

The show will have a visual aspect as well. Swift will have multiple costume changes and the stage set will feature a “fairy tale castle” illuminated by a million lumens of light. The first public ticket sale that has been announced so far is for February 6 (Staples Center)…Presale for the STAPLES Center starts 2/1.
